BeerWatcher — Share your beer moments.

1. What We Collect

• Account information — your display name and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, your email address and profile photo URL as provided by those services.
• Photos — images you upload when creating a post (beerwatching). These are stored on our server and visible to other users.
• Location — venue name and GPS coordinates you optionally attach to a post. Location is never collected in the background.
• Activity — posts, comments, reactions, follows, and direct messages you create within the app.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To display your posts and profile to other users of the app.
• To enable social features: follows, reactions, comments, and direct messages.
• To calculate your VibScale status (a fun in-app activity indicator).
• We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond what is listed here.

3. Authentication

We use Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) to handle sign-in with Google and Apple. Firebase processes your sign-in credentials according to Google's Privacy Policy. We receive a user ID and display name; we never store your password.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on a private server. Uploaded photos are stored in our file system. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or crash reporting services that collect personal data.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently and immediately deletes all your posts, messages, reactions, follows, and account information.

6. Children's Privacy

BeerWatcher is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Your Rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time by using the in-app account deletion feature or by contacting us. Users in the EU/EEA have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to object to processing.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision.
